Immigration Law Isn’t Just A Job To David
When David is questioned about immigration issues, he admits that it’s hard not to sound biased. He’s been involved with immigration issues long before he became an immigration lawyer.
Immigration is part of his family heritage. His father is an immigrant. His mother was an immigrant, as well.
But let’s not leave out David…
Born in Korea, he immigrated to Buenos Aires at age eleven. Although he excelled in every subject of study in school, his desire to become lawyer surpassed all other interests. As he grew up and his studies continued in Buenos Aires, he challenged the belief that foreigners could not grasp all the finer points of the Spanish language to become lawyers, and aimed to becoming the first male foreign-born lawyer in Buenos Aires. This goal was realized in 1987, when he received his Law Degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Buenos Aires.
Shortly after being sworn in to practice law in Buenos Aires, David desired to come to the United States. Following long years of yearning and waiting, he arrived in the United States as a legal immigrant. Once again, he aimed to practice law in yet another foreign country. He succeeded by obtaining his Law Degree from Fordham Law School and passed the New York State Bar in 2003.
For the past several years, David has worked with companies from abroad advising them on access to capital and strategic planning. He has also been practicing in various areas of the law…including residential & commercial real estate, consumer bankruptcies and immigration. But immigration law has always called the loudest, and his main focus remains on Immigration Law.
David isn’t only bi-lingual; he’s tri-lingual. Fluent in English, Spanish and Korean, he not only passionately focuses his efforts to the communities that have supported him all of his life, but can easily empathize with various foreign clients from all over the world.
Assisting each of his clients in legal aspects as well as supporting them emotionally to help them win the right to live and work legally in the United States. For David, each successful immigration case is a fulfillment of his calling to give hope and an opportunity that can change another person’s life, whether it be uniting dispersed families, or overcoming obstacles for a chance to freely start a new life in the United States. After all, every immigrant he helps is a tribute to his own immigrant experience.
In recent years, David has successfully assisted clients with situations which other attorneys called “hopeless” and even traveled abroad in extreme cases to obtain necessary approval.
